@MacMiller Dunno & Nothing From Nothing Spotify Session
A few months ago, Mac Miller came to Spotify to record a new version of Dunno and a cover of Billy Preston’s Nothing From Nothing. His #SpotifySingles are now available to stream. Spotify free playing suggested songs.
As cliché as this sounds Mac Miller could easily be seen as one of the most multi talented rappers the hip hop industry has ever had. Not only did he possess diverse lyrical abilities but he was a unique singer and used a larger range of instruments in his songs than the average rapper. Spotify decided to highlight this truth recently as they share a soulful cover of Billy Preston's 1974 hit Nothing From Nothing and a performance of Dunno by the late Pittsburgh emcee.
The Nothing For Nothing cover sees the rapper jump on a piano backed version of the upbeat song creating a more ambient and open version of it. Given that Dunno off his Swimming LP is a favourite amongst fans, they will enjoy the piano backed version which exposes more of the rapper's vocals. Mac Miller’s Spotify Sessions Songs Have Been Released
Mac Miller’s Spotify Singles EP was just released.
For the pre-recorded sessions, Miller performed his Swimming cut “Dunno” along with a cover of the Grammy-nominated 1974 Billy Preston hit “Nothing From Nothing.”
These brand new Mac Miller sessions are just the latest two-track release from Spotify’s Singles series, which racked up more than 1 billion streams earlier this year. The series now has two years under its belt, and was designed with the era of 45s and traditional singles in mind, according to a rep from Spotify.
Miller died at his Studio City home back in September due to an accidental drug overdose. During the Celebration of Life event for the late rapper at the Greek in Los Angeles the following month, friends and collaborators gathered to pay tribute to the 26-year-old, whose latest album Swimming has gotten him some of the most glowing reviews of his career yet.
You can stream both songs below exclusively via Spotify.
